I recently purchased and installed the Vancillary sliding door stop on my 2023 Ford Transit. This solves a problem that we have been experiencing when trying to close the sliding door from inside the van when the bug screen is deployed. Previously, we had to step out of the van in order to reach back far enough to pull the door shut. Now it is well within reach. The installation was straightforward and easy. Great addition to our van!

Missing the adhesive from the shipment. :(

Sliding Door Stop: Sprinter Van, Ford Transit Van & Promaster

Store owner replied: Hey Scott, sorry for the disappointment. We stopped including JB weld in our kits due to a tripling of cost from the supplier. This is noted in the product description but we have yet to update the product instructions with this information. I hope you were able to get your hands on some and get it installed.

Thanks for the install instructions. I added the painter’s tape to avoid making a mess, plus it highlighted the slider track, making positioning all the easier. BTW, works like a dream.

Sliding Door Stop: Sprinter Van, Ford Transit Van & Promaster

Store owner replied: Right on Doug. Clever use of tape to keep it all contained ~ we'll add that note in our installation guide so others can benefit from your wisdom. We appreciate you sharing your experience!

Wider strip The strip could be wider for ford transits. The strip works well when the van is level but doesn't hold well if the vehicle is on an incline.

Store owner replied: Hey Owen, is your door stopper centered relative to the track caster wheel? Send me an email (sean@vancillary.com) to see if we can get a replacement door stopper to better optimize your van.

I installed this little device (before it was available from Vancillary) 4 3/4 years ago for the door of my 2018 PleasureWay Ascent on a Mercedes Benz Sprinter chassis. It was the very first modification I made to my RV. My only regret is that I might have installed it a little farther forward, had I waited until I’d used my RV a few times, perhaps closer to the edge of the kitchen cabinetry, as can be seen in the picture. In that 4 3/4 year period, the black anodizing has worn off of the intermediate stop, which has had no effect on its operation. I haven’t kept track of the percentage of time I open the door all the way or only to the intermediate stop, but I do open the door all the way frequently in warm weather when I put down the door screen. The door does bounce as it goes over the intermediate stop, but I can’t say that it has had any adverse effect upon the door or its hardware—it’s still as tight as it was when I took delivery. And except for the anodizing wearing off, there’s been no other noticeable wear or tear on the intermediate stop. Installation is really easy, but it’s really important to follow the instructions for the adhesive. Doing so guarantees longevity—as is obvious by the length of time I’ve had mine. My only complaint is that it’s not very easy to pull or push the door out of the intermediate stop. For some smaller people, it might be easier to push it open toward the rear, and then slide it forward to bounce over the intermediate stop. But that’s a very small complaint for such a useful and simple device.

This was a super easy install. Everything you need is included - adhesive, directions, latex glove, etc… I really like having a midway stop for my slider for those “public” areas where I don’t want people looking in my camper. It’s easy enough to slide over if you want the door open all the way. People say it’s too expensive, but I could not - and don’t want to spend the time to - make one, so it’s totally worth it.

If you want to add a detent on your sliding door so that it pauses and is secured partially open this product is for you. This nicely machined aluminum doorstop for my Sprinter works great and was easy to install. The part was shipped with all you need to epoxy it on the sliding door roller track. The installation instructions were on the Vancillary.com web site under downloads.

Works great! so nice to just be able to open the door halfway to have an in and out of the van and retain some privacy. It’s a great idea and I really like the way it works. Glad I did it.!!

Sliding Door Stop: Sprinter Van, Ford Transit Van & Promaster

Store owner replied: Nice one, Dennis. Being able to keep the sliding door halfway open is a simple upgrade, but a pretty handy one. Hope it serves you well on plenty of trips ahead!

    Easy installation and works great

Store owner replied: Hi Marie, thanks for your review! We're glad to hear the installation was easy and that everything is working great. If you have a photo of your setup, we'd love to see it. Feel free to share one with us!

Works Great! A bit expensive for what it is and to not include JB weld. Sprinters should've come from the factor with a midway stop, especially on the crew and passenger models. All in all happy though!

Sliding Door Stop: Sprinter Van, Ford Transit Van & Promaster

Store owner replied: Hi Zachary, thank you for your feedback! We're glad to hear the door stop is working well for you. We appreciate your suggestions and will keep them in mind as we continue improving our products. Thanks for choosing Vancillary!

    Spendy for the size.

Sliding Door Stop: Sprinter Van, Ford Transit Van & Promaster

Store owner replied: Hi Gary, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We appreciate you choosing Vancillary. I wanted to check in to see if there is anything we could clarify or improve regarding the product sizing or overall experience. If you have any questions or would like support selecting the best option, we would be happy to help. Your input helps us improve and ensure our products meet expectations.

Although this shows JB Weld is part of the door stop kit, it is not included “to keep costs down”. The door stop kit is pretty expensive in itself, but without the JB Weld it is grossly overpriced. There are much less expensive alternatives available elsewhere.

Store owner replied: Hi Scott, thanks for your support and the rave review. Can you tell us why we missed the fifth star? We are always looking for feedback to improve. The prices of our products reflect that they are original designs made in the USA with quality materials.

The first time I glued it on one end popped up slightly, which prevented the door from rolling onto the stop smoothly. I removed it, sanded off the liquid weld, glued and clamped it in place (small C clamps). Works as advertised.

Store owner replied: Glad to hear it worked for you Ray. Safe travels, wherever that van takes you.

Simple but so functional. This is a game changer and I love it! I chose this product verses an international brand because this company created it. They deserve credit even if a bit more. If you have a van with a slider, you must have this product 😃❤️
